English Assignments

"This weeks assignment is poetry. I want you all to write a poem and perform it for me tomorrow in class. Each grade has a different topic and type of poem. The best poems will be chosen and that student will be performing it at the poetry club with the chance to win $300."


Freshman: Haiku on your first day of high school
Sophomore: Romanticism on love at first sight
Junior: A Carpe diem poem on Peace
Seniors: Free Verse



OOC: A new topic will be posted in the Classrooms section. And I will start the topic but you all must post your poems yourself as a RP.

The students came in and sat down. I noticed a few eager faces so I assumed they were awaiting to hear the winner of the poetry slam. "Hello my pupils. I'm sure you are all excited to see who one the poetry slam. Well I thought long and hard and would first like to say I am proud of you all. You really blew me away with your writings. But with that being said there can only be one winner. I chose to represent our class at the poetry club to be.....Alexa." Everyone faintly clapped and I walked towards her desk. "You all left out and didn't get to hear her wonderful poem. It was quite amazing. I will let you know the details after class if you have a minute to spare." I said kneeling down talking to Alexa. "Now back to class..." After the bell rang I stated to them. "Now your homework for everybody is to briefly summarize the books I assigned you." I notice Alexa walk towards the desk. "Congratulations Ms. Stratford. You really earned it."
